when i married notz, the only choices were to live in pasig or mandaluyong. during that time, he works at the fort and i work in ortigas. after weeks of looking, we rented a 1 bedroom apartment in san miguel, pasig. but we had to leave because of Ondoy.

hanap ulet kami sa mandaluyong. we were not keen on looking sa pasig because during that time, that was around 3 days after ondoy, e lubog pa din ang karamihan sa pasig. kaso wala kaming makita sa mandaluyong. and we were informed (by our next door neighbor din sa san miguel) of this new 5 storey apartment in pineda. still in pasig but way way way on higher grounds.

and this is the start of my story.
i really love this place.
it's so near our work (sa edsa central na si notz ngayon) that we can walk going home.
usual travel to the office is around 20 minutes.
tricycle lang e nasa one san miguel na ako.
now that i work midshift, i leave the office at 10:10 and dito na kami sa bahay before 10.30. sarap.

what's more e ang lapit namin sa kapitolyo. and andami-daming places to eat sa kapitolyo. sarap. food trip eto.

Cafe Juanita
previously, we would frequent Cafe Juanita. dun pa lang sa lumang location nya.

if we have something to celebrate, or we receive our bonuses, dun kami.
we find the place really interesting (but quite expensive) and dun lang ako nakakita ng sticky toffee pudding.

when they moved to their new place, pumupunta pa din kami.
kaso na off kami sa kanila because of 2 different occasions.
1. first was nung pinapa-alis nung guard nila yung trike na sinasakyan namin. walang palabas na sasakyan from their parking ha, pero pinapa-alis nila yung trike. not sure why, dahil kaya trike lang sya?
2. next was nung pinaupo nila kami dun sa malapit sa kitchen. when i requested for a seat sa main dining area, puno na daw. e when we were just entering the resto, me couple na katatayo pa lang. and that was early 7 and the place looked empty. dahil kaya naka maong lang kami ni tonton?

after that, never na kaming kumain sa kanila.

Kainan ni auGusto
dahil nga ayaw na namin sa cafe juanita, dun na kami sa carinderia nila kumakain, sa Kainan ni auGusto. hehe. dun sa pang-katulad namin, dukha. hehe.

pero ayos dito kase masarap yung food. lalo na yung mechado and dinuguan. yun nga lang, if we arrive past 7, la na masyado choices, puro meat dishes na lang. pero ok na din, di ko na kelangang magluto ng dinner.

Charlie's Grind and Grill
then there is Charlie's Burger.
if gusto namin magmatakaw ni tonton, we go here. pag marami kaming pera, we go here. masarap yung angus burger nila pati yung fries pati yung spaghetti with meatballs.

Three Sisters
if i want to eat vegies or bbq (na top rated), we go to three sisters. it's an old restaurant. pag pumasok ka, mapapansin mo na old na talaga sila. hehe.

dito pa daw  nagd-date dati yung parents ni tonton. we would usually see SUVs parked outside, madami pa din silang clients. usually mga oldies din. hihi.

Uncle Moe's Shawarma Hub
if we want to eat greek, there is Uncle Moes.

greek comfort food na mura. plus mura rin ang beer. i brought my friends here, and they loved the place.

CAB Cafe
nung kaka-open pa lang ng CAB cafe, triny na namin sya agad ni tonton.
but we didn't liked it. ngayon, nagtataka kami kase parang parating andaming cars na nakaparada sa harapan nya. and parating may tao. we don't know if mali lang ba yung inorder namin before. until now, di pa namin sya nat-try ulet.

Lia's
there is also Lia's cake.

they boast of their avocado cake, which i didn't like. hehe. di na namin sya binalikan.

Poco Deli
meron ring wine store cum cafe named poco deli.

tuwing dumadaan kami ni tonton pag gabi e me 2 security tanod sya. not sure why. baka dahil sa wines. prices nya e tama lang and they cook the food upon ordering. we ordered aglio olio na kaya ko namang gawin kaya di na kami bumalik ulet dun. hehehe.

Adobo Republic
me adobo republic din sa kapitolyo.
it's in front of 3 sisters. pag wala ng masarap sa augusto e dito nyo kami makikitang kumakain.

GoodBurgers
me branch din ng good burger sa kapitolyo.
dati, it's beside 3 sisters pero ngayon lumipat na sya sa tapat ng bagong cafe juanita. guilt free burger. and they ranked 2nd or 3rd sa best burger competition ng juice.ph.

Chatime
pioneer center is within the area din. it has jollibbee, greenwich and chowking. there are few other gimmick places then around the grocery but we would frequent french baker and my new favorite, Chatime.
they have a lot of different kinds of tea drinks. you can customize sugar level and ice level. price is reasonable and ang cozy cozy sa taas.

yun lang. dami nu. magtataka pa ba kayo kung bakit ayaw ko lumipat ng antipolo. hehehe. peace han.

p.s. me malapit na din na mag open na Figaro dun sa me ace water spa, pasig. hihi.

yesterday, notz and i decided to have a date. pambawi kase he was soooo busy the past few weeks. sinundo nya ako ako sa office to only realize na both of us has some emergency and we needed to go home. hihihi.

so go home it is. after maayos yung emergencies, tuloy na yung date. balik sa emerald to have dinner at army navy. we saw one of my teammates. she was waiting for someone. while munching on the free peanuts, we had this casual conversation. chever chever. chever. gano katagal na nga kayong married? we both answered 2. actually, its 2 years, 2 weeks. tapos chever chever ulet.

yown lang. when we got home. i was still thinking. 2 years na ba talaga yon. parang indi pa naman. pero oo e. 2x na kami nag-celebrate ng anniversary. parang wala pang masyadong nagbabago. baka kase wala pa kaming baby, so wala pang major adjustments. ewan ko, but it doesn't really feel like 2 years. hehehe. ambilis.

Tisoy and Tangos went to an HK-Macau getaway for their 2nd anniversary celebration. Budget was on a shoestring so they did what they can to enjoy. Ito ang  highlights ng aming adventure:

1. Ce-boo Pacific is consistent in bringing delayed service. We waited for two more hours before we could depart. At least the pilot was very apologetic.

2. This is our first time to travel together overseas. We had moments of being a dysfunctional couple. I was masungit on the first sign that we were getting lost. At least we agreed that we would lose if we were in the real Amazing Race. And I learned that it's ok to check the map than to depend too much on kumander's geography skills. I really had monster moments, buti na lang malamig, at hindi ako sinabayan ni kumander ehe ehe ehe.

3. First meal to eat in a foreign country was Yoshinoya. We were playing it safe muna.

4. We booked CityView hotel in HK. Thanks again to kumander's miles, we were able to get it for free (three nights). The room was just so small, but since it's free, can't complain. It was cold, around 15C so we didn't need airconditioning.

5. We ate at Burger King because siya lang ang may free wifi. Lots of fashionistas in HK, I observed. Kumander noticed lots of girls wearing boots with a fur. Porma kung porma. But channeling mai mislang, sorry, walang pretty dito.

6. First tourist spot to visit was the giant Tian Tan Buddha at Ngong Ping. Kakapagod ang 200 steps (daw) paakyat. But when you're up there, the pagod is gone. We don't know why. We just enjoyed the view and  greatness of the massive structures.

7. We went to HK Disneyland right after lunch (which was a typical hainanese chicken lunch taken in a mall food court). Thank God that I was able to visit Enchanted Kingdom first, kundi baka ayaw ko na sa kanya. EK has more rides, but Disneyland is Disneyland, it banks on their various brands. The parade (na may mga Pinoy I bet) and fireworks display were unforgettable. The 'it's a small world after all' ride was creepy; madaming kamag-anak si Chucky.

8. Next day, we were able to eat in a Michelin-starred restaurant - Tim Ho Wan, specifically,  the world's cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant. We arrived  early, quarter before eight (it opens at 10am). We were the 4th group in the pila. Around 9am, the queue was unbelievable, kulang kulang isang daan ata ang nakapila, no exaggeration. The store opened and it was time for us to make bawi. We ordered siomai, hakau, pork bun and rice with beef. Everything tasted great. The pork bun is the best among them, it's like a fusion of pandecoco outside and siopao inside.

9. By lunch, we were in another mall's foodcourt (Langham place ata). Before we went to our next itinerary, we had some window shopping. So many brands I say. Wala pa ring pretty.

10. We went to another high place, The Peak. Rode a tram to get there, took some pictures, and went down na.

11. We rode a ferry from Hongkong Island to Kowloon. We ate dinner and watch symphony of lights after. Ayus naman. Kaya din natin yun mga yun, I told myself. Kulang lang sa pangarap at effort.

12. We strolled further to the avenue of stars. Sa dami ng stars on the floor, bilang lang ang kilala ko - Jet Li, Jacky Chan, Samo Hung, at Chow Yun Fat. May picture ako with Bruce Lee. Yun lang.

13. Next morning, hello Burger King uli. It was time to get ready to leave for Macau na rin. So we packed and went to the port for a ferry ride.

14. I was a bit shocked when we arrived at our hotel. Smoking was encouraged indoors.The elevators even had ashtrays.

15. We just had a quick lunch at RDS chicken (na Pinoys ata ang cooks). Finger-licking good ang manok dun. Best matched with banana ketchup.

16. Lots of casinos in Macau. I thought that it was Asia's Las Vegas. Anyway, we went to City of Dreams was our next stop. Lots of models ala playboy girls, naka-blue bunny suits nga lang. Pwede. And the smokers were also there sa loob ng mall. Terrible. We got to watch a cool visual presentation, Bubble Show daw, with great water and 360 visual effects. The story was about having good fortune, in other words, lots of money. Para pang-casino nearby.

19. After that, we went to the Venetian Hotel and Casino. As expected, there were the canals, the bridges, the gondolas. May mga pinoy atang gondoliers, na talagang birit kung birit sa pagkanta. My beginner's luck sa casino didn't last. Kumita naman ako ng mga 40HKD so pwede na umuwi.

20. Next day was our last. Kumain kami sa isang historic resto - Wong Chi Kei. The noodles were ok, mas masarap ng konti sa chowking. After that, we went to St Paul Ruins. What's noteworthy was not the actual place, but yun sa gilid ng ruins. There was a toy shop na  mura relatively ang toys (gundam, transformers, and other action figures). But we were short of cash so noted na lang muna siya.

21. Souvenir buying na ang last activity namin. Daming food taste, pwede kang pumunta dun at mabubusog ka sa kanilang dried and processed meats.

22. Thanks to the various shuttle services, naka libre kami papuntang airport. Sa airport, may mga pinoy din employees, nakakatuwa. While we were waiting sa airport, a pleasant surprise arrived - Pacman and his posse. Kaso hindi naka-smile at hindi nagpaunlak openly for piktyurs. Si Jinkee lang ang nakangiti, at kitang kita ang produktong Belo. Pacman was just there, may kausap sa celpon. I somehow understood him that time. Malamang talo na nga sya ng malaki sa casino, pinag shopping pa nya si kumander. May mga Chanel, Dolce n Gabbana, at LV shopping bags na bitbit ang mga alipores. Kaya pala si Jinkee lang ang nakangiti.

There's our adventure. Thanks to Pacman for arriving, sabay niyang dumating ang eroplano. Kung walang VIP, malamang mamuti uli ang mga mata namin. We also thank God for the safe ride pauwi. And we thank manong driver of the yellow airport cab for the honest metro and service.

The whole trip was brought to you by the words "lamig" and "Longchamp", which I both ignored.

All in all, it was a fun and unforgettable experience. Next overseas trip is bound for Japan in our 5th. But I have to formally launch our "Isang Daan para sa Japan" campaign first. Di namin kaya ng tigpipiso.

i know i already posted this in FB, pero i think it's fit to have a space here in our blog also. ton finished this months ago pero wala pa kaming budget pampa-print, hehehe. pero pasasaan bat magiging totoong storybook na din ito =)

anyways, i have this printed walletsize pala para at least me proof kami ni ton. he wanted to make little changes pa. carry lang, as it is, super love ko tong album namin.

na-discover nila na super laki ng effect ng additional paymemt every month. sa principal kse binabawas.

if we add, for example 5k sa hinuhog nila every month para sa paggy's point, macut from 30 years to 10 years ang kanilang pagbabayad. ganun din sa casa carino ni tangos sa cavite.

amazing. truly amazing.

so pagkatapos ni boogie and ma-finish ang paggy's, dapat careerin na nila ang pagbabayad. para di na manahin ni tisoy jr and ma. tangos (praying) ang mga utang nila =)

We've been totally blessed this year, wala kaming reklamo. Well, mejo meron pero slight lang. Mas higit na matimbang ang mga blessings, and nagpapasalamat kami. Kaya here are some pics to reminisce 2010, na punong puno ng social gatherings.
